Haryana Transport Minister, Mool Chand Sharma said that with a view to provide relief to the people during the nationwide lockdown due to COVID-19 pandemic, the State Government has decided that the Vehicle Fitness, Permit, Driver License and other documents under Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 and Central Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989 which were valid till February 1, 2020, will now be considered valid till June 30, 2020. In addition, all registration authorities have been directed to register BS-4 vehicles sold before April 1, 2020 which were not registered for any reason by specially opening the offices by April 30.
Secretary, Transport Department, Anurag Rastogi said that the grievances will
be redressed soon. He assured that a system would be developed to provide
movement pass to the drivers so that they can bring back their vehicles which
were left behind at the dhabas and petrol pumps due to lockdown. For this,
heavy driving license can be recognized as a movement pass.
In response to a query raised by a representative of a transport union regarding opening of the transport office, Transport Commissioner, S.S. Phulia said that a circular will be issued soon to open the transport office so that the transporters do not face any problem.
