Delhi Police Commissioner, S N Shrivastava, today Launched Ayuraksha- ‘Corona se jung – Delhi Police ke sang’, a joint initiative by Delhi Police and All India Institute of Ayurveda, Ministry of AYUSH, GoI, in a closed door program maintaining social distancing at the lobby of Police Headquarters, Jai Singh Road. All India Institute of Ayurveda, an apex post graduate research and teaching institute under the Ministry of AYUSH in collaboration with Delhi Police Department has come forward with a proposal for maintaining the health of front line COVID warriors like Delhi Police personnel through Ayurveda Immunity boosting measures. The proposal would be implemented in a phase wise manner.  The distribution will take place for nearly 80,000 personnel of Delhi Police across 15 districts.  All India Institute of Ayurveda has nominated 3 main coordinator under the Director of Institute. 15 Nodal officers of AIIA have been nominated who will be working in close coordination with 15 nodal officers from Delhi Police.

Speaking on the
occasion, the Commissioner of Police emphasised that in fight against Covid-19
outbreak, Prime Minister, Narendra Modi has stressed the importance of using
tested immunity boosters of Ayurveda and Yoga. He said it is his responsibility
in a segmented force to look after police personnel, who perform their duties
without caring for their personal comforts & safety. Around 50 police
personnel have been hit by this deadly virus as their duties require their
presence in the general public, including vulnerable places like hospitals, containment
zones and quarantine centres. They are also at risk as they have to investigate
cases and remain present for rescue works etc. He expressed his gratitude to
Ministry of AYUSH, and specially Dr. Tanuja, Secretary for this unique
initiative which will help our policemen i.e. Corona warriors at the forefront
to keep themselves safe & secure from this deadly virus.

Immune Boosters Kits
were distributed to Delhi Police Personnel on this occasion.   Senior officers of Delhi Police also
attended the programme.
